With eight divisions organized into four main clusters—Agriculture and Agro-processing, Manufacturing, Consumer Goods, and Commerce—the group excels in manufacturing, importing, and exporting a diverse range of agricultural products, including top-quality seeds, beans, and specialty coffee. Additionally, it imports animal health and pharmaceutical products, industrial raw materials, and locally manufactures and distributes finished goods throughout Ethiopia. The Role The Operations Manager is a senior level executive who is responsible for leading, overseeing and optimizing the company’s day-to-day operational activities to ensure efficiency, productivity, quality, and alignment with corporate goals. This role works closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to implement strategy, streamline processes, manage resources, and support continuous performance improvement across departments to help create enduring policies and a company culture that strengthens operational efficiency and generates revenue. The operations Manager shall have full authority and responsibility to oversee the overall administrative, financial and operational activities of the company. Key Responsibilities Detailed Duties & Responsibilities: Lead, coordinate, and supervise all daily operational activities across all business and support divisions. Ensure that all operations run smoothly, meet targets, and align with company policies and standards. Collaborate with business unit managers to define and implement operational strategies that align with the company’s vision and growth objectives. Ensure efficient, cost-effective, and quality-focused operations across all operations of the company Partner with the CEO to develop short-term and long-term strategic plans, operational budgets, and business priorities. Analyse operational performance metrics and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve output quality. Translate strategic direction into actionable operational plans with measurable outcomes. Establish and monitor performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate production efficiency, export compliance, sales distribution, customer satisfaction, and tender performance. Provide regular reports and insights to the CEO on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities. Oversee supply chain functions including procurement, inventory planning, logistics, and distribution to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency. Work with the finance team to ensure accurate forecasting, cash flow oversight, and operational financial reporting. Promote a culture of high performance, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement within all operational functions. Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders Ensure operational activities comply with industry standards, export laws, food safety standards, regulatory requirements , labour laws, corporate governance policies and internal protocols Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, KPIs, and improvement plans to senior management. Oversees the overall administrative, financial and businesses operation of the company; Evaluates periodic performance reports (physical and financial) of the company and takes corrective action on time; Performs other related duties as may be required.
